The Production Process – We thought you might be interested to learn how the charming Umbrella Couple Sculpture was made. Here is a summary of the production process.

Step 1 – Smelting

In this stage, cast iron is heated to a temperature of 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. Once it turns molten, it is ready for the next stage.

Step 2 – Casting

The glowing hot iron is carefully poured into a pre-designed mold and left to set. This is a dangerous, labor-intensive process as each mold must be filled with molten metal, one at a time.

Step 3 – Grinding

The casting mold is broken open, and the sculpture is then sent for grinding, an arduous, manual process in which the rough edges are removed from each sculpture. This is what makes hand-made sculptures costly.

Step 4 – Welding

Under the craftsman’s expert eye, fine details are added to the sculpture to transform it into a work of art. This is where artistry and precision come into play.

Step 5 – Sandblasting

In this penultimate step, all extra residues are blasted away, leaving behind the shiny metal sculpture. Its true beauty is beginning to show!

Step 6 – Coating

In this final step, the sculpture is covered with a specially formulated black substance which hardens around it to protect it, giving that amazing gray-black sheen. Your piece of art is now ready to meet to the world!
